  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs

  2. Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Whisk the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt together in a medium bowl
  4. Beat the butter on medium speed until creamy (by hand or with an electric mixer).  Add the sugars; beat until fluffy (about 3 minutes). Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  5. Stir the dry ingredients into the butter-sugar mixture.  Stir in the oats, raisins (if using) and chocolate chips
  6. Roll the dough into balls.  Place the balls on prepared baking sheets.
