Black and White Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups sugar (plus some for rolling)
  • 2 ounces cream cheese (cut into 8 pieces)
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 package white chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350º and line cookie tray with parchment paper
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder together in a medium bowl
  3. Place 1 ½ cups sugar and cream cheese in a large powl.  Pour butter over sugar and cream cheese and whisk to combine (it is ok if there are small chunks of cream cheese at this point)
  4. Whisk in oil until incorporated
  5. Add egg, milk, and vanilla and whisk until smooth
  6. Add flour mixture and mix with rubber spatula until dough forms
  7. Add white chocolate chips and mix until incorporated
  8. Scoop dough into balls and roll the balls in sugar until they are fully coated
  9. Flatten balls and place on prepared tray
  10. Bake for 15 minutes
