Hershey Kiss Thumbprint Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter softened
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¾ cup rainbow sprinkle balls
  • Chocolate kisses (1 for each cookie)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350º
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa and salt
  3. Beat butter with electric mixer until smooth
  4. Add sugar to butter and beat until light and fluffy
  5. Add egg yolk, milk and vanilla to butter mixture and beat until combined
  6. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture and beat on low speed until combined
  7. Shape dough into small balls and roll in sprinkles to coat.  Put balls on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake cookies for 10 minutes
  9. Let cool for 2 minutes and press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie
